• Pip overhears discussions about Jaggers
• Jaggers handles his business, “‘That’s what I told you not to do . . . You thought! I think for you’”

• Wemmick will take him to see Pocket Jr.

• A close look at Wemmick
• Wemmick handles the cash
• We meet Matthew Pocket Jr. aka Herbert
• You’ve got to be kidding . . . he’s the PYG?!?!?!?!

• Mathew Pocket is Miss Havisham’s cousin
• Herbert has a favorable description from Pip . . . he’s easy going
• Pip earns the moniker “Handel”
• Pip entreaties Herbert to offer pointers about good manners
• Herbert unloads about Havisham
– Spoiled by Dad after Mom dies
– Dad + Cook = Half Brother (who’s a jerk)
– New Man courts Havisham . . . Convinces her to buy out Bro’s share of brewery
– Matthew only relative to call out the guy, and Havisham rebukes him for it
– Turns out Bro was in league with the courtier to split the profits of the sale of the brewery
• Herbert is interested in being a capitalist
• Yet, his work is not profitable, and he seems to take victory and defeat in the same way
