ARTICULATION AGREEMENT
between
Bergen Community College
(Associate in Science in Criminal Justice)
and
John Jay College of Criminal Justice, C.U.N.Y.
(Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice)
PROVISIONS:
1. To be admitted to John Jay College of Criminal Justice under the terms of this agreement,
a Bergen Community College transfer student must satisfy the requirements for the
Associate in Science (A.S.) in Criminal Justice described in this document. Only after
receiving his or her diploma from Bergen Community College may the student enroll at
John Jay with junior status.
2. John Jay College requires transfers to have a minimum cumulative grade point average
(GPA) of 2.0 based on the total number of credits attempted or completed. As students
may only graduate from Bergen Community College if their cumulative GPA is at least
2.0, it follows that all students earning the A.S. in Criminal Justice will meet John Jay’s
general GPA admission standard.
3. John Jay College will accept up to sixty-eight (68) semester hours of academic credit
toward fulfillment of the bachelor’s degree.
4. Courses are considered individually and only those courses for which the student has
received a grade of “C” or better are transferable.
5. Students enrolling at John Jay College with the Associate’s degree must take the CUNY
proficiency Examination during their first semester at CUNY.
6. Transfers from Bergen Community College will be eligible for appropriate scholarship
opportunities at John Jay College.
7. This agreement shall remain in effect until modified by mutual consent or altered one
year after receipt of written intention by either party.

* Students select one concentration and complete three courses in it. They are required to take a
300-level course in any concentration as part of the major. While this course can be one outside
their chosen concentration, students should be aware that the choice of a 300-level course outside
their concentration implies the need to take a fourth course in the major (to satisfy the
requirement that three course be taken in the concentration.)
**One of the three courses students must select in their chosen concentration must be a 400-level
course. It is recommended that they do this in the fall or spring semester of their senior year.
