January Fun Facts!
January holds new hope, resolutions, reflections, exercise & diet plans,
reorganizing, garden dreams, plans & lists, for a happier and healthier new year!
January
The word January comes from the word ianua – meaning door.
In ancient Roman religion and mythology, Janus was the god of beginnings and transitions,
thence also of gates, doors, doorways, endings and time. He is usually a two-faced god
since he looks to the future and the past. The month of January was named in honor
of Janus by the Romans. January is the first month and doorway to each new year.

Quotes & Poems
"New Year's Resolutions
Just think, think, think,
Of things you can do,
To make yourself better,
Before the year is through.
Resolutions can be tough,
Or simple as can be,
Making resolutions,
Are great for you and me!
So what will you promise,
To help yourself my dear?
Through 2015, Have a Happy New Year!"
-Iram Khan
“Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your
self-confidence.”
- Robert Frost
“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more
common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; the world is full of
educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
The phrase ‘press on’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
- Calvin Coolidge
“Wherever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision.”
- Peter Drucker
“We love the things we love for what they are.”
- Robert Frost
“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes,
then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself,
changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before,
and more importantly, you're Doing Something.
So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes.
Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze,
don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art,
or love, or work or family or life.
Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it.
Make your mistakes, this year, next year and forever.”
- Neil Gaiman
