Case | Benetton DigitalWALL Signage Case Study study| |Retail EDUCATION | |VIDEO Project Create a stimulating AV feature in Benetton’s flagship store. Challenge The chosen solution needed to be able to work in a narrow space and reproduce natural colours accurately. The audio visual display also had to complement the vibrant and distinctive design aesthetic of the store and be able to function in bright light. Insight The Panasonic 103” with its new anti-glare surface meant it would be capable of performing in high ambient light environments, which was essential for this store. Plasma also has the advantage over LCD of delivering a higher contrast ratio due to its ability to show deeper blacks and wider viewing angles, ideal for demonstrating models on screen. What we did The choice of the 103” with its high contrast, brightness and true colour reproduction means it replicates the perfect skin tones and vibrant colours featured in Benetton’s famous adverts which are relayed on the screen. This allows for a visually arresting display harmonious with the brand philosophy. Thinking Differently www.psco.co.uk The 103” was specified to be displayed in portrait, ideal for the slim area available in store. Showcasing the fashion content is this format has a greater, more life like impact when depicting the models. The install utilising PSCo Technical Division’s bespoke Screenlifter meant no additional structural work needed to be engaged, minimising costs. Results PSCo’s Managing Director, Stuart Holmes, explains: “The opportunities with the 103” are endless for retail applications and this venue is the perfect reference site. The 103” Plasma is available for hire or sale, they can be used as part of a one off promotion or as a longer term business tool, attracting attention or interaction from customers.” PSCo Technical Distribution is a trading name of PSCo Limited Benetton
