Sheng Kung Hui Fung Kei Primary School “Fung Kei Students Show Their Love” Service Report (2014-2015) Name of the service: ”Fung Kei Students Show Their Love” Aim of the service: 1. The school wants to through this event, and let students to understand the needs of others, to experience other people's feelings, so as to nurture their empathy, sense of responsibility and commitment spirit. 2. The school hoped to through this activity, enhance the communication skills and collaboration skills of students. 3. The school hopes to help the elderly from care center to feel the care of love. 4. The school invited parents to participate in service activities as well, in order to enhance the effectiveness of cooperation between family and school. Students share general knowledge of eye care or spinal exercise to the elderly. 2. Doing small performances or games 3. Students talk with the elderly, present homemade paper fans, as well as towel and socks that sponsored by Sunrise Charitable and Education Fund. 1 Outcome of the activity: Before the visit, students wrapped all presents, and prepared to give out to the elderly. Meanwhile, students from each class actively rehearsed for the performances, hoping to bring a pleasant day for the elderly. On the day of visit, elderly were so excited on the coming of students. During the service, students were active, very involved and listened carefully to the words of elderly people, being patient while talking with them; fully demonstrated their affection for elderly care. Throughout the activity, students obtained a valuable service-learning experience. Review and Recommendations: According to post-event assessment questionnaire, indicated that 90% students felt very happy and quite happy from the service, after the service, 97% students are willing to continue to help people who are in need, and 99% felt that the school should continue to implement service-learning activities. The elderly were so delighted when students visited them. 3 Students are doing performances to the elderly, such as singing, playing the recorder and doing exercise of the care of spinal.
