English II Honors/IB
First Semester Vocabulary Development How you learn and study unfamiliar vocabulary words plays a huge role in not only developing your vocabulary but improving your reading comprehension as well. Each student is responsible for learning the definitions of the words, part of speech, other forms of the word, recognizing the words in context, and knowing synonyms and antonyms for each word. Tests will include a variety of formats focusing on using vocabulary words in context. Directions: Complete the Vocab worksheet for each list (you will be tested after every four lists). Vocabulary worksheets will be stamped each Friday and collected on the day of each test. Worksheets to record answers are available online. Prepare and study as part of your ongoing homework.
