Welcome –
Area Update: Admissions – Molly Vanderpool
Distributed two key pieces of material – Application Guide and Visit Brochure
Admissions consists of two counselors – Kara Newman and Angie Napier
Recruitment has improved due to personalization – variable data postcards and assigning the counselors to a designated territory
Large increase in applications due to the number of scholarships available, upgrade in programming and personalized recruitment
Committee Updates –
Welcoming Committee– packet has been put together to welcome new staff members.
The packet includes a menu to Bear Creek and Joes Pizza, a 50% coupon for Bear Creek, map of campus, phone directory, and the latest edition of What’s Up. o Council passed the motion to offer a free drink from Bear Creek to the new staff member while the Welcoming Committee welcomes them to campus
Scholarship Committee – has met with Brindy Roosa regarding a change in the gift agreement. A request was made to increase the amount of the scholarship to $750, remove the restriction of hours and change the GPA to “reasonable academic progress”. o Council passed the motion to change the gift agreement for the current scholarships.
Staff Training Committee – distributed a survey which will result in training based on the staff needs. Announced March 26 CTL Day, Build a Rock program availability in April, IU
Bloomington Training opportunities, Oncourse Space for Staff, and distributed a calendar of events from CTL and a shortcut guide.
Service Award Committee – three nominations have been received so far. Deadline to nominate is March 16. Committee will meet next week to finish reviewing the nominations.
Ways & Means Committee – project determination between American Legion (military support) and Circle U (food drive). o Council passed the motion to claim Circle U as the community project o Committee will distribute collection boxes for each building, a want list and an announcement to students, staff and faculty.
