Your Grand Opening Travel Party!
The Basics & Etiquette to get you through it and Maximize your Success!
The key to your success is to model a business party that is duplicated by the people you
enroll. This is a low cost, easy and fun event with a planned business outcome.
1. First Steps: Plan a date and time with your sponsor or team leader to verify
someone is available to assist you with the party and answer questions after the
presentation is complete
1. Provide pads of paper and pens for guests and reps to take notes.
2. Buy name tags: RED for Guests, BLUE for Reps.
3. Print out both Enrollment Forms (Representative and Product) and Income
Disclosure Statements. If 18-25 year old guests, print DTU Rep forms also.
4. Optional - Talk with your sponsor or team leader about a Vacation GiveAway as a “thank you” for those enrolling first and/or for a drawing to add
excitement.
5. Use the “Just Push Play DVD” with your TV. If no DVD player, use a
compatible laptop (with the latest presentation downloaded) connected to
your TV. Regardless: Do a dry run with the technology you plan to use to be
sure it works and you know how to work it! DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DAY
OF THE PARTY TO TRY THIS.
2. Just Two Days Before:
1. Use the 4-Step Invite or the 2-Step Text Invite to invite at least 30 people—
only 20% (six) will actually attend despite what they tell you—you must over
invite! Invite people to meet other people and have fun.
2. Do NOT invite negative, unhappy, or overly skeptical people—they will kill
the fun atmosphere and monopolize the closing session while ruining the
opportunity for you and your other guests.
3. One Day Before: Participate in a 15-minute “Coaching Call” with your sponsor or
team leader to discuss preparations, confirmed guests and last minute steps.
4. The Day Of: Be Excited! Confirm and set the mood:
1. Call each guest again the morning of the party to “count the number of
additional guests they are bringing” (you always assume they will be there).
Stress being on time; late arrivals create distractions and reduce outcomes.
2. Travel Music: Have upbeat music playing as guests arrive; you can play
DreamTrips from your DVD on your TV or a vacation picture slideshow.
3. Greet each guest eagerly with “Welcome to the Islands!” to start the fun!
4. ONLY very light snacks (chips & salsa) and sodas/tea/water (simple, low
cost parties duplicate; elaborate food and alcohol do not duplicate).
5. Alcohol: Not recommended before or during the party – focus is on the
desired business outcome and your guests to maximize your results.
6. Full/tight room is very good – it creates a greater sense of urgency and
excitement (large empty/partially full rooms produce a lower enrollment;
standing room only is great!).
7. Only bring out extra chairs at the very last minute before the presentation
starts (no chair should ever be left empty); face guests’ backs to the door if
possible to minimize late arrival distractions during the presentation.

5. First 15-30 minutes: “Meet and Greet” social time with light snacks and
conversation to get to know each other and create rapport.
1. Edify your leaders/speaker(s) to each guest individually to enhance rapport
and make both people more comfortable.
2. Introduce and edify each guest to all people at the party and be sure to
meet guests that other people bring—work hard to make all of your guests
feel special!
3. FORM guests to identify their needs as time permits (ask them questions
about their Family, Occupation, and Recreation).
4. Only use general conversation topics (weather, kids, sports, etc.). No MLM,
WorldVentures or anything about presentation they are about to see.
5. Reps do not ask customer service or other questions—this is a business
party focused on guests with the goal of enrolling all of them!
6. Start the Presentation at the designated time:
1. Turn OFF all cell and house phones; control pets, kids—no distractions.
2. Do not ask questions during the presentation—even if you are new—the
day is for guests (Rep questions will be answered after the guests leave).
3. Show genuine enthusiasm and take notes on the presentation (guests will
notice and model you). Each time you take notes, you reinforce important
facts for yourself and to your guests.
4. Participate with the DVD/speaker to give energy (be upbeat but not fake).
This shows your commitment to your new business and models productive
behaviors for your future team members.
5. Do not get up or leave the room during the presentation—that will give all of
your guests permission to do the same thing.
7. After the Presentation—STAY EXCITED!
1. Immediately re-start the music the instant the presentation ends to keep
energy in the room and mask side conversations.
2. Have someone designated to immediately give each guest the Product and
Rep applications and Income Disclosure Statements.
3. Until you know how, let an experienced Rep do the closing. It demonstrates
to your guests that you have support and that you do not need to know
anything to make money! Your guests are buying/following you based on
your commitment and excitement! If you are unsure, always ask someone
prior to the presentation to help you close your guests at the end.
4. REMEMBER—Once any objections/questions have been answered,
someone MUST ASK (or re-ask) your guest “Are you ready to get started?”
or “Are you ready to have some fun with me?” or “Do you have enough
information to make a decision?” etc.
5. You must ask for the sale to get a firm YES or NO—a maybe only wastes
your time. If they cannot do either, set a date and time (usually within 24
hours) to call/meet and get a yes or no—then follow-up on time!
6. NEVER re-present the material to guests for any reason—the guest will feel
like you are “pressure selling” and no one wants to be pressured for a sale.
7. Extra Reps should stay seated (do not hover over or stare at guests) and
wait until specifically asked to help, then back away again after helping.

8. DO NOT ask questions of the speaker if you are a Rep—this event is for the
guests.
9. Never abandon your guests – stay with them, listen, and learn about your
business and how to create an even better travel party next time!
8. Have package ready for guests to take with them
1. For those enrolling as Reps: a current “Just Push Play DVD” and “Living
Proof” Magazine to keep them excited and start immediate duplication.
Also, set date for their exposures (family or friends) within 24 hours
(Immediately).
2. For those enrolling as customers: a Magazine and/or Product Tri-Folds.
3. Before they leave, always ask the “No’s” Who do you know that might need
a vacation or more money? Always try to get one or more referrals from
each person who says “No.” They will be happy to provide you names of
friends if they enjoyed the event and you didn’t pressure or intimidate them.
4. Note: If you do not have the materials listed above, talk with your sponsor or
team leader about how to get them.
If you are not having FUN, you are doing something wrong! This party system produces a
good business outcome when your guests are curious, excited and relaxed—like you!
