Annihilation of Egoism

The Annihilation of Egoism
Morning Lesson, April 5, 2004
Spring Congress-2004, Kfar Sitrin, Israel
Today we must perform the action called Srefat Hametz or the burning of curdle, the burning of
egoism.
Egoism is subject to four types of death. These are Skila, Srefa, Ereg and Henek, meaning stoned,
burned, suffocated and beheaded, respectively. These are four ways to kill egoism, across from
the four stages of Aviut that our Kli contains.
The last way is burning, and nothing remains after it. We know that when you behead someone,
nevertheless there remain some parts of the egoistic Partzuf and it can still be resurrected. When
you suffocate, the same thing occurs. However, in the case of burning, only ash or Afar remains
afterwards, as it is said: “You are dust and to dust you will return” (“Afat Ata Ve El Afat
Tashuv”).
Thus, the very last level of defining egoism is when a person burns it. Prior to this, he realizes
egoism on different levels as something that is not so horrible. We can suffocate it or cut off its
head and use other possibilities, but only without the head. If we use another head or other
thoughts, or beat him with stones, then this is also not so horrible (stone is Even, Lev ha Even)
and so on. In general, we can talk about it this way.
However, when a person already realizes his egoism to be absolutely and incredibly harmful, and
that it obstructs his path to the Creator, standing between them in such a way that it needs to be
totally annihilated, meaning its entire level or story (Koma), then he comes to the conclusion that
it must be burned and transformed to a state from which there is no return. In addition, this state
must be completely inanimate.
This is the final decision before one’s full exit out of egoism. During previous decisions, a
person revealed egoism in himself on the first, second and third stages. He thought that he could
get rid of it by stoning, suffocating or beheading it. However, when he defines his egoism, he
sees that this is Aviut four (Aviut Dalet), which is immense and completely obstructs the Creator.
Then he comes to the conclusion that it must be burned.
We must perform this action today as a tradition of the Kabbalistic group. The Jewish nation is a
Kabbalistic group that has forgotten about what it must do. This tradition has remained. We
know why and for what purpose we will do this. Let us hope that we will be able to do this inside
of ourselves in action.
What does burning mean? How do people acquire fire? How do they generally catch this egoism,
tie it and burn it? This is studied in other parts of Kabbalah. The Creator’s order to Abraham
with regard to Isaac refers to this, saying that he must tie him down, kill him and so on. That is,
this refers to specific corrections of the left line.
Today we must also undergo one more procedure that people perform before the holiday of
Passover; this is bathing in the Mikve. We perform the bathing in the sea. The sea is 100% Mikve
(Mikva is either water from underground sources or water that falls from the sky).
For now, let us analyze the elements that we need to know in order to better understand what our
work is. Let us try to figure this out.
Where did Adam HaRishon emerge from?
We study that in the beginning there were Partzufim Galgalta, AB, SAG, and then Nekudot de
SAG and Tzimtzum Bet took place in them. Reshimot ascended to Rosh de SAG. They performed
Zivug in Nikvey Eynaim. The World of Nekudim exited into Katnut. Then the World of Nekudim
exited from Peh to Gadlut, and that is when the Shevira (breaking) took place. From the Shevira,
Reshimot ascend back to Rosh de SAG and they no longer begin to enter from Nekvey Eynaim,
but rather from Metzhach or Bina de Keter. The Partzuf called Atik begins to come from here,
the first Partzuf of the World of Atzilut after the Shevirah. The next Partzuf is Arich Anpin. Why
is it called this way? Arich Anpin is Hochma Arucha (Arucha means long, since Hochma is
measured in length). Then, from Peh until Chazeh of Arich Anpin, comes the Partzuf called
Abba ve Ima. From Chazeh and down, there are ZON, Zeir Anpin and Nukva.
What does the very word Atzilut mean? Etzlo means “in him”. That is, the Upper Light is
contained in Him. He is the system of governance of everything that is below. Is there anything
else?
-The worlds.
Besides the World of Atzilut, where do other worlds come from? What is their cause?
-The Shevirah.
What occurred during the Shevirah? What broke? What does Gadlut of the World of Nekudim
consist of? In general, what parts does the World of Nekudim consist of?
-Keter, Abba ve Ima and ZON.
What is Keter? Rosh de Itlabshut. Let us call it Rosh one. And Abba ve Ima is Rosh de Aviut.
Rosh de Aviut is Rosh two. What comes after Rosh? Guf. This means that there is a Partzuf - two
heads and a body. When this Partzuf is not in Katnut but it is in Gadlut, of what parts does it
consist? What is missing here? Why is it called Katnut?
-The AHP is missing.
That is, the ZON are small. What does each of these parts contain?
-Galgalta Eynaim.
What does Galgalta Eynaim mean? Kelim de Hashpa’a are bestowing desires. They are only this.
There is no force to work with receiving desires. I am able to give, but to receive in order to give
means to already pass it through my egoism and I am unable to do this. I myself will feel
pleasure. This is Katnut.
On the other hand, what happens in Gadlut? One receives forces from above in order to receive
for the sake of bestowal. I can even receive and feel pleasure and this will also be the same as
bestowal or “for the sake of the Creator”. Why will the Creator feel pleasure from the fact that I
feel pleasure?
-It is the Purpose of Creation.
What is the Purpose of Creation? From His side, The Purpose of Creation is to please.
Do you not live in our world? Why does the Creator feel pleasure from the fact that I feel
pleasure? Because he loves us! What happens in Gadlut of the World of Nekudim?
The first Rosh becomes ten Sefirot. That is, it already has not only Galgalta Eynaim, but also
AHP. The second Rosh or Abba ve Ima also has ten Sefirot. It also has Galgalta Eynaim and
AHP. Besides Galgalta Eynaim, ZON also attaches its entire AHP to itself and together they
become the ten Sefirot. The huge ZON, meaning the Guf, are egoistic desires that receive in
action and that want to receive for the sake of bestowal.
That is, they want to feel pleasure because the Creator feels pleasure due to this, to receive only
with this thought. If I feel pleasure and I do not care whether He feels pleasure or not, then I do
not do this. I do it only in order to please Him or the One Who Loves.
Did they succeed in doing this or not? They did not succeed! This is why they broke. Why did
they fail? What was missing?
-The Masach (Screen).
-They lacked the Masach, this is clear. But why did they lack the Masach? After all, the Partzuf
had calculated that it would be able to do it. That is, the Partzuf is like a person, it calculates that
after performing specific actions it will have certain forces and will be able to carry out certain
actions. What was the mistake or miscalculation?
-The Masach was on two, but the Zivug was on three-four.
Correct. Why did they not receive a Masach on three-four? Why did ZON not receive the force
of the screen to the degree that they had evoked light or pleasure on them? It turned out that they
attracted pleasure to them that was greater than their opposition, and they received it for their
own sake. They began to think about their own pleasure.
-They used Reshimot NHY de Galgalta.
You are correct, these are Reshimot three-four. But why did they not receive such a force of the
screen from above that would have enabled them to receive for the sake of the Creator? What is
the name of the light that the Masach passes to the Kli?
-Ohr AB SAG
This means that Ohr AB SAG did not pass through. Why did it not pass through and give them
the forces? It is because Ohr AB SAG cannot pass below the Parsa. Light comes from here and
reaches only the Parsa, and it is not present below the Parsa.
Right now we will not delve into why they did not discover this and so on. However, this was the
reason for the breaking. What broke? What part of all of this broke?
The Guf of the Partzuf! The head does not receive; it only works to solve the problem. The Guf
receives. Therefore, even though the entire program was incorrect in principle and Abba ve Ima
made a mistake, nevertheless, they could not have broken, the entire ZON broke. Of what parts
do ZON consist? Galgalta Eynaim and AHP. What happened after ZON broke?
-The mixing of Galgalta Eynaim and AHP.
In what way? They became completely intermixed in each other. In what way did they do this,
and how many parts are there as a result?
-There are four parts.
What are these parts?
-Galgalta Eynaim, Galgalta Eynaim in AHP, AHP in Galgalta Eynaim, and the pure AHP.
Four parts. All of this broke and everything lacks a screen. The World of Atzilut begins to come
out after this. What is called the Rosh of the World of Atzilut? – Keter. The Keter of the World of
Nekudim is divided into two parts. The Upper part relates to Atik and the lower part relates to
Arich Anpin. Therefore both Partzufim, Atik and Arich Anpin, are considered to be Keter. Abba
ve Ima remains. Instead of ZON there is ZON. But what kind of ZON is here? What does it
include from everything that was here before? - Pure Galgalta Eynaim.
That is, after Shevirat ha Kelim the Galgalta Eynaim were excreted, and ZON of the world of
Atzilut consists of them. This state of the World of Atzilut, when it exists only on pure Kelim that
do not relate to the Shevira, is called Matzav Chavua or constant state; no smaller state than this
is possible.
This definition of Matzav Chavua must be memorized, this is simply a Kabbalistic term. It is
translated as “constant state”, but this is not really the case; it is really the smallest and lowest
possible state.
Thus, the World of Atzilut came out. It corrected Galgalta Eynaim after the Shevira. However, in
principle, Galgalta Eynaim should not even have broken. In addition, there remain three more
uncorrected parts. What does the World of Atzilut do with them? How does it correct them? It
builds the system of worlds BYA: Beria, Yetzira and Assiya. Of what parts of Kelim Shevurim
does it build them? Let us think, of what can we now create Kelim? Why did the breaking occur?
The Creator’s thought is that a breaking must be created in order to mix Kelim de Kabbalah with
Kelim de Hashpa’a in order for sparks of the Creator to enter creation. Why did He lead up to
this? Why did the breaking occur in action? Due to which Kelim did it occur? – Due to AHP.
That is, AHP is not ready and not capable of receiving pleasure or fulfillment. This means that
we cannot use AHP. However, we can use Galgalta Eynaim. In addition, there is also a piece of
Galgalta Eynaim here, or Galgalta Eynaim that are in AHP.
Thus, there was a big AHP and now Galgalta Eynaim has fallen into it. That is, these pieces are
good and it is possible to correct them, but they are located inside of AHP. If we suppress the
AHP that is here, meaning not to use it, perform a Tzimtzum on it; and correct Galgalta Eynaim
just as in the World of Atzilut, then we are be able to use them.
How many levels of Aviut are there in total? - Zero, one, two, three, four. What levels of Aviut
exit in Atzilut? Galgalta Eynaim is zero-one. Where else did Galgalta Eynaim remain? - In Aviut
two, three and four. This means that if we correct Galgalta Eynaim (we take Aviut number two,
perform Tzimtzum Alef on it in order for it not to get in the way, and correct Galgalta Eyinaim in
it), then what world do we get?
-Beria.
We get the world of Beria below. Then we take the same constituents, but the level of Aviut
number three, perform Tzimtzum Alef on it, correct Galgalta Eynaim in it, (it is possible to
correct this because Ohr AB SAG gives us this opportunity), and what world do we get?
-Yetzira.
Then we take what remains, Aviut number four, perform Tzimtzum Alef on it, correct Galgalta
Eynaim in it, and we get the world of Assiya. This way, we have derived all these worlds.
Thus, there is Adam Kadmon. Before this there was the World of Infinity – Olam Ein Sof. Before
this, there were Arba Bhinot de Ohr Yashar, or four stages of the dissemination of direct light.
Before this there was only the Creator. This means that from the Creator there are four stages of
the direct light, then there is the World of Infinity in which Tzimtzum Alef took place, then the
World of Adam Kadmon, and then the Worlds of Nekudim, Atzilut, Beria, Yetzira and Assiya.
Thus, the worlds were created. With these worlds we have only corrected Galgalta Eynaim
inside of AHP. What happened after this? How do the rest of the parts that formed due to the
Shevira become corrected?
-By elevating AHP de Aliyah.
What does this mean? How does it ascend? What can we correct right now?
-AHP in Galgalta Eynaim.
How can the AHP be corrected? It is impossible to correct.
-Light glows on the AHP…
Light glows on the AHP. It is not regular light; it is the light of correction rather than the light of
pleasure. Explain it somewhat emotionally: what can happen here? What do we need to do in
order to correct the AHP that is inside of Galgalta Eynaim even slightly?
Galgalta Eynaim were inside of AHP, in AHP, and now AHP is inside of Galgalta Eynaim. For
example, if I correct Galgalta Eynaim, the bestowing Kelim, but there are egoistic desires within
them, then what should I do with these egoistic desires? What is the maximum I can do with
them?
-Restricton.
Tzimtzum. Correct. And then what will happen? What will my common Kli be equivalent to?
-Katnut.
-Katnut. Galgalta Eynaim will work, and the Kelim of AHP will not be felt. AHP will be in
Galgalta Eynaim but it will be invisible because it is located inside and it will not show itself
because a Restriction will occur on it, as if it did not exist. This way, we get one more Galgalta
Eynaim.
Where is the AHP that was restricted? This AHP must work as Galgalta Eynaim, not for
reception. It must become equal to the Galgalta Eynaim in which it is located. Then this AHP
will be called AHP de Aliyah. That is, if we really act with the help of this AHP, then all the
worlds will begin to ascend one level higher.
