A MONARCH’S RESUME In studying the rise and development of nation states, we have focused a lot on the roles played by leaders. Some of the leaders were successful, some were not. When historians evaluate how successful or unsuccessful a leader was, they are looking back and analyzing what happened and why it happened. From that, historians will study how people’s actions impacted events and whether or not those actions led to positive outcomes. A resume is a listing of your accomplishments, educational experiences and career goals that you submit as part of a college or job application. Each of you will select a ruler and develop a resume which reflects the accomplishments of that person. Obviously this would be a resume that could have been written only once the ruler was dead and the results of all that they did were known.
