ENCORE TO SELL 1 MILLION TICKETS IN 2007
Encore Tickets is launching its presence at this year’s British Travel
Trade Fair with a forecast that it will sell 1 million theatre tickets in 2007
– making it the largest independent ticket agency in the West End.
Said Managing Director John Wales: “We have come to BTTF with our
largest-ever combination of allocations and pre-purchased seats including £1
million worth of stock for THE SOUND OF MUSIC and DIRTY DANCING –
which is great news for members of the travel trade seeking tickets for
premium shows.”
The Encore team now comprises of 40 staff from 4 continents, speaking 15
different languages, servicing clients from over 70 countries worldwide.
Encore Tickets is the leading supplier of theatre tickets to inbound tour
operators coming to the UK, with a market share of 80% and growth of 40%
per annum for five consecutive years.
In 2006 hundreds of tour operators from around the world benefited from its
unique channel distribution system – taking advantage of password protected
online booking systems, XML functionality, direct allocations and theatre
passports.
At BTTF Encore will be talking to the trade about requirements for the new
booking periods of top shows such as The Sound of Music, which will soon
be opening a third booking period and will be launching some great new
shows news of which is currently top secret.
