Professor Aleklett Peak Oil news conference and launch of ASPO-Australia
Monday 21st November at 2.00pm
at the RAC Media Room 832 Wellington St Perth
NEWSPOINTS
 Permanent shortfall in global oil supply (peak oil) is inevitable and imminent.
 Long term oil shortages likely, very steep price rises, petrol rationing, economic
downturns
 WA export, mining and farming industries will need to change, in advance
 Suburban commuter lifestyle will become very difficult unless public transport is
improved dramatically.
 Businesses must plan now for higher fuel and transport costs.
 Big opportunities for businesses to be oil-vulnerability solution providers
 Urgent need for government initiatives to warn the community, to evaluate and reduce
oil vulnerability.
