Registration and Payment Instructions
To find out how to register for a particular professional development session, please refer to the specific instructions
provided in the “Presenter/Registration” column for that particular session. This registration information may direct you to
email a particular staff member or external partner, complete an online survey, or register via Protraxx. Sessions that
require payment will also require you to purchase the service in the FAMIS system (see Part II: Payment Via FAMIS). For
further information on signing up via Protraxx and FAMIS, please read the following instructions.
Part I: Protraxx Registration
1. On your computer’s internet browser, go to the website http://pd.nycoit.org (please note that there is no “www”),
and click on the words “Click here to enter the new online PD registration system” to access Protraxx.
2. If you already have a Protraxx account, log in with your Username and Password (if you’ve forgotten them, click on
the link that says “Forget Username/Password?” and they will be sent to your email address).
3. If you do not already have a Protraxx account, click on the button that reads “Click here to register” and follow the
directions to create an account.
4. At the top of the screen, under “Title” type the title of the course or iLearn and under “Department,” please select
“Instructional Technology” from the drop down menu.
5. Scroll down to locate the session for which you wish to register, and click the button that reads “Enroll Now.”
6. For those sessions that require payment, your registration is not confirmed until your principal purchases
the selected session in the FAMIS system (note: you do not need to do this for free sessions). For sessions that
require payment, locate the FAMIS Item Number for the session and provide this information, along with your DOE
email address, to your principal. Your principal should then follow the steps outlined on the next page to complete
the payment process for the session.
7. Within two to three business days, you will receive an email confirming your participation in this workshop. Your
attendance is not confirmed until you receive this email. If you do not receive the email, please follow up by calling
(718) 922-4979 or email ilearn@schools.nyc.gov.

Part II: Payment Via FAMIS
Principals should follow these instructions to purchase selected sessions:
1. To purchase services from an Internal DOE provider, principals will need to first create a budget item in the Table
of Organization in Galaxy. This process is exactly the same as for any OTPS item, but principals will select the
newly created title Internal DOE Services – 0998. This title points to Object Code 0998 in FAMIS. Note that only
Tax Levy funds can be scheduled into 0998.
2. Principals should then log in to FAMIS at https://dfoforms.nycenet.edu/FamisPortal.
3. To purchase internal services, select “Purchasing,” “Contracted,” “E-Catalog,” and click “Internal Services.” Enter
the FAMIS Item Number to locate the desired session.
4. Please be sure to enter the participant’s name and email address in the “Notes/(Special Delivery Instructions)”
section of the
FAMIS entry so that we know which session you are purchasing and for whom you are purchasing this session.
