
Differential assessment within rotations.

Must meet expectations for ALL rotations.

Not meeting expectations in one rotation MAY be remediated.


Choices are made online via SingleSignOn under Clerkship  Selectives.
o Choices screen will be active beginning February 1, 2012 at 11:59 pm.

Deadline for choosing selectives is February 21, 2012 at 11:59 pm and results will be
communicated by the clinical departments.
Rural Regional Program
During the clerkship year, all students will complete a minimum of four weeks of clinical training in a
small or mid-sized community in Ontario outside of London or Windsor. Students have the option of
completing up to 12 weeks in a community outside of these teaching centres.
Placements are available in:
 Family Medicine
 Obstetrics & Gynaecology
 Paediatrics
 Psychiatry
There are a limited number of clerkship placements available for each rotation in each community.
Priority for these placements will be given to students who have not yet met the curriculum
requirements. Requests will then be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. While we try
our best to accommodate students’ requests, some students may be required to complete additional
placements outside of London and Windsor, depending upon preceptor availability.
Selections will be made online via the Clerkship  Selectives section of SingleSignOn with a deadline of
February 21, 2012.
An information session will be held in early February to explain the rural regional choices. The session
will be noted in your one45 when the date and time are set.

Schulich Regional Clerkship Program
New this year is the Regional Clerkship Program where up to six clerks will spend 30-36 weeks of their
clerkship year in the Chatham community depending up on the specialties chosen. These clerks will do
Medicine CTU and some specialty rotations in London.
 Chatham has long been a part of the SWOMEN rural program and is well suited for the new
clerkship program.
 Enrolment is limited to the first six applicants from the Meds 2014 class. If the cap is not
reached, the remainder will enter into the program by lottery.
 Participating clerks will pay for their own accommodation in Chatham but the cost of travel and
accommodation when they come to London for CTU and selectives will be covered by SWOMEN.

Regional Clerkship Structure
o 12 weeks Medicine:
 6 weeks CTU – London
 2 weeks Emergency Medicine – Chatham


Attendance is mandatory for London and Windsor students unless situated outside of these
centres on a rural rotation in a location where travelling back is prohibitive. These students
have the opportunity to participate through WIMBA, via WebCT.

A detailed agenda will be sent out a week in advance.

Portions of each session will be videoconferenced from London to Windsor. Sessions will also be
audio-recorded and posted to WebCT.

PowerPoint slides from the sessions will also be posted to WebCT.

your preference.


vacations.
