La Trobe University Library is implementing the Web-ezy
interactive tutorials in February 2004. Some subject
librarians are intending to use the tutorials in an integrated
way in consultation with academic staff, but these plans
have not yet been implemented

to complete the LITE online module which from 2005 will
be worth 5 marks, though how they will be assigned is yet
to be determined. LITE uses WebCT. A number of other
units speicifically related to information retrieval in Law
and Science also use WebCT and attract marks as one

IL online training and resources are fully integrated with
the whole UNSW medical curriculum (new curriculum
starting 2004). Online modules are integrated with courses
in most other disciplines - but the integrated courses are
as yet few in number. Specific examples are in aviation,

We are doing a number of different things in different

The majority of CSU’s students study in Distance Education mode. The Library, where possible, purchases major resources, journals and reference materials in
electronic format. We have an extensive Ereserve collection. ILL copies and copies of articles from print journals are delivered electronically to the student’s
desktop. Print materials are usually sent by courier to students located in Australia. Students can contact the Library via an email reference service or using toll
free telephone numbers.
The Library has an online Information Literacy package called “Web-ezy”. This modular training package is currently being revised and will be renamed
‘SmartSkills”. In Spring Session the Library will be introducing “SmartSearch (Metalib) – an integrated search interface for the majority of the Library’s electronic
resources.
Library staff participate in CSU Distance Education Orientation sessions in Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne.
