2HOT2 HANDLE EXTRAVAGANZA GOES OFF WITH A BLAST
A huge variety of vehicles and motorbikes on show and on the waterfront track were
the feature of the second 2HOT2 Handle motoring extravaganza at the Westpac
Stadium over the weekend.
Inside on the carpeted Stadium concourse magnificently restored polished aluminium
1920 Rolls Royce owned by Nyall Simkin of New Plymouth, cleaned up the classic
car category. The Enzo was hands down winner of the Europeans, with Troy Smith’s
Mazda won Best Import and Best Build in the Japanese Tuner classes.
Out on the track Digby Paape won the slalom in a Porsche, while Sefton Gibb with his
AMG Mercedes was awarded Best European car for his very aggressive driving in the
sprints and in the slalom.
The three fastest cars were Matt Gibbons in his Dodge Dart, Dave Duncan with a
Nissan Skyline and Tony Bouzaid in his ’32 Coupe.
