currently facing carsharing and station car organizations.

TCRP B-26 Study (Carsharing: Where and How it succeeds)
Overview of Studies
The TCRP B-26 study on carsharing was awarded to Nelson\Nygaard. Adam
Millard-Ball of Nelson/Nygaard attended the subcommittee and described the
study and their perspective. It is an 18-month project consisting of focus
groups and surveys in a final report due in April 2005. It includes publicprivate agencies. The project will include focus groups of current carsharing
member, carsharing organization surveys and selected agencies, and member
survey. The study will also include the Canadian perspective. It will
emphasize where carsharing works and what models are successful.
c. Future Plans and Assignments
Ed Neumann and Susan Shaheen announced that Susan has been named the
next chair of the parent committee (AP020—New Public Transportation
Systems and Technologies). Matt Barth will be taking over as chair of the
Station Car/Carsharing subcommittee.
TRB Sessions for 2005: Posters and paper sessions were recommended (with
an emphasis on paper sessions).
The call for papers should include a general topic call for carsharing and
station car papers, as this was quite effective in 2004.

Coordination with ACT (Associate of Commuter Transportation)
Kevin Luten suggested integrating the subcommittee’s activities with ACT

conference. Kevin will work on a draft agenda and timeline, with
assistance from Marty Bernard, Dave Brook, and Susan Shaheen.
This is a special note of thanks to Linda Novick for preparing minutes. Thanks, Linda!
