HRIS 101 – An Introductory Course on how to Effectively Manage the Human Resources
Information in your Organisation
Introduction
Organisations are turning to their human resources department for productivity, improvement and competitive
advantage… but without an effective information system human resources departments will be unable to meet
these growing business challenges.
Human resources departments also fail to recognise: acquiring and implementing a human resource system
(HRIS) are but the first steps to improving the effectiveness of HR through automation. What happens after the
HRIS is operational? Have you considered who will operate, maintain and further develop the HRIS? Should the
responsibility lie with HR or IS? Do you know how to keep the HRIS on track so it continues to satisfy business
needs for the longest possible time? How will user skills be developed and maintained? Do you know how
changes in the business environment and within the company impact HRIS? Do you know how to plan
strategically for HRIS?
You will learn
 The basic components of an HRIS
 How to justify the HRIS to management
 How HRIS evolve, and the critical management implications of this evolution
 HRIS system trends
 How to develop reports that provide management with business information
 Key HR performance measures and how to report on them
 Introduction to Business Process Engineering
 How to effectively gather HR information
Seminar attendees will receive substantial reference material
As part of this two day seminar you will receive a comprehensive workbook that elaborates on topics covered
during the two days of intensive discussion.
