Memory Devices: Linking Verbs
Studies have shown that we are more likely to
remember a concept if we have a way to remember it
other than memorization.
Task- Create one of the following to help you
remember what a linking verb does in a sentence and
what the common linking verbs are.
1.) Mnemonic Device- Commonly encountered
mnemonics are often verbal, such as a very short poem
or a special word used to help a person remember
something, particularly lists. Create a Mnemonic
device that would help you ore someone else learn to
enjoy what a linking verb is and what the common
linking verbs are.
2.) Rap or Song Lyrics- If you are musically
inclined, create rap or song lyrics that would help you
or someone else learn to enjoy and remember what a
linking verb is and what the common linking verbs are.
3.) Poem- Use your textbook or computer to research
different poem formats. Create a poem that would
help you or someone else learn to enjoy and remember
what a linking verb is and what the common linking
verbs are.
