13. Course Description:
Structural and functional of endocrine glands produced several hormones, physiological effect of several
hormone on controlling metabolism and functions of various cells and organs in the body, including structure and
function of reproductive organs with emphasis on clinical abnormality, pathophysiological and pharmacological
aspects related to regulation of these hormonal dysfunctions.
14. Course Objectives:
14.1 General objectives: Students should be understand the structural and functional of endocrine glands
produced several hormones, physiological effect of several hormone on controlling metabolism and functions of
various cells and organs in the body, including structure and function of reproductive organs with emphasis on
clinical abnormality, pathophysiological and pharmacological aspects related to regulation of these hormonal
dysfunctions.
14.2 Behavioral objectives: In the end of the course, students should be able to :
1) Describe the function of hormones including proliferation and development, nutrition and
metabolism, calcium homeostasis, and fluid and blood pressure controlling.
2) Describe mechanism of hormone in the cellular and molecular level.
3) Describe microanatomy and physiology, causes of disorders and diseases, functional abnormality
of hypothalamus and pituitary gland, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, Islet of Langerhan gland (pancrease), and
adrenal gland including drugs used in this disease/condition.
4) Describe microanatomy and physiology, causes of disorders and diseases, functional abnormality of
reproductive system (male and female) including drugs used in this disease/condition.
