To engage participants in a discussion and application of the District’s Multiple Response Strategies 2. To engage participants in an Upgrade of their MRS Toolkit Document(s): Materials Assessment & Follow-up I will need: Sheet protectors Card stock Dry erase markers Copy paper Markers Chart Paper Pens Index Cards Assessment/CFU during Workshop: Application of Multiple Response Strategies Assessment Post-Workshop (deadline): Campus Instructional Coaches will inform their colleagues of the need to utilize Multiple Response Strategies at the secondary level. (ongoing) Teachers will bring the following to the meeting: CICs will bring folder to secure materials and takeaways Follow-up by Principals & Instructional Leaders (dates): Use of MRS (ongoing) Living the Learning (LtL) Legend: AA= Airtight activity that leads participants to the right conclusion mostly on their own R = Reflection (participants quietly analyze, generate conclusions or takeaways) S = Small-group or large-group sharing; workshop presenter is primarily a questioner F = Frame the learning: provide the formal vocabulary associated with the workshop objective A = Apply: put the principles into practice If you rest. Time Mins Description of Instruction (Living the Learning Type in Parenthesis) Needed Materials 5 Slide 1 Intro and Icebreaker o Play “Upgrade Ya” by Beyonce in the background: Opening activity: hand out popsicle sticks and give participants 3 minutes to decorate sticks with their name. o Place names in a ziploc baggie and pull names throughout session to facilitate engagement. Popsicle sticks 5 Slide 2 CICs will answer the following question after viewing the movie clip on their Reflection/Notes page o Which multiple response strategy would you use to facilitate student engagement and why? 5 Slide 3-6 o Facilitator read slides pull names using your popsicle sticks for CICs to assist Slide 7 MRS UPGRADE o CICs will create an 8 page booklet. This booklet is also made and kept by students in their binders or you can have them keep it in a toolkit on grouped desks. The 8 pages: A/B/C/D, TRUE/FALSE, 1/2/3/4, ETC Play Video “Ferris Buller” 5 2 Reflections/Notes Vocabulary Terms Copy paper Slide 8-9 o Facilitator Read Aloud or pull popsicle sticks 5 Slide 10 o Facilitator allow participants to read over the Core Beliefs ask them to think about the following question while they’re reading. o What core belief aligns with MRS?
