Unit 6: Science, Math, and Engineering Careers Concepts: Many people choose science as a career and devote their entire lives to studying it. Many people derive great pleasure from doing science. Objectives: OACS Science Scientific Ways of Knowing Grade 9, #8 Illustrate that much can be learned about the internal workings of science and the nature of science from the study of scientists, their daily work and their efforts to advance scientific knowledge in their area of study. Grade 9, #9 and Grade 10, #7 Investigate how the knowledge, skills and interests learned in science classes apply to the careers students plan to pursue. Grade 11, #11 Research the role of science and technology in careers that students plan to pursue Summary: Students will explore various careers associated with the field of phycology. Students will also look at various individuals associated with the field of phycology.
