Grade 9, #9 and Grade 10, #7
Investigate how the knowledge, skills and interests learned in science classes apply to the
careers students plan to pursue.
Grade 11, #11
Research the role of science and technology in careers that students plan to pursue

down several ideas you have about this job. Share your perfect job with your
partner
Explore:
Group students in groups of 3 or 4
Assign career to each group
Begin research on career from the following list:
Engineer-electrical, environmental, chemical/materials, mechanical,
agricultural, or civil
Research scientist
Biologist
Chemist
Mathematician
Business/Marketing
Research should include information such as:

Explain:
Briefly share your findings with the class for each of the careers.
Discuss minority populations in each of the careers.
Many minority men and women have contributed to the advancement in the fields
of mathematics, science, and engineering. Understanding the contributions of
minority populations in the field of mathematics, science, and engineering help us
to understand the world around us.
