FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION:
Once again our parish will be celebrating the Feast of the
Assumption in two ways. There will be a Novena
beginning on Friday, August 8. In addition, the annual
Parish Festival will be held in the parking lot on Sunday,
August 17th.

PRAYERS:
Please pray for all the faithful departed, especially for
Nicholas & Adeline Mansolillo.
We pray for Dr. Simon Coren
WE PRAY FOR: All the members of our Assumption
Parish community who are ill, especially those who are
seriously ill or who are hospitalized. We pray for all the
victims of violence in our society. We pray also for the
abused, the unwanted, the lonely, the unloved, the unborn
and those who have no one to pray for them. For these we
pray to the Lord.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS:
Frequently, when loved ones die, family members
encourage donations to various organizations in their
memory in lieu of flowers. A donation to the Assumption
Capital Campaign in memory of loved ones is another way
to honor the lives and faith of those who have gone before
us. All donations are gratefully received and
acknowledged. May the souls of the faithful departed rest
in peace. Amen.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION:
From now on Sister. Ana Maria Corona will be the new
director of Religious Education. Sister Ana Maria will be
giving the applications to the new program on Saturday
August 2 from 10: am to 3:00pm at the rectory and the last
day to register is September 2.If you have any question
please call the office at 941-3768. Thank you
COMMUNION MINISTRY TO THE SICK:
"The faithful who are ill are deprived of their rightful
and accustomed place in the Eucharistic community. In
bringing communion to them the minister of communion
represents Christ and manifests faith and charity on
behalf of the whole community toward those who cannot
be present at the Eucharist. For the sick the reception of
communion is not only a privilege but also a sign of
support and concern shown by the Christian community
for its members who are ill" (Pastoral Care of the Sick:
Rite of Anointing and Viaticum, 73).
The Parish Council has identified an important need within
Assumption Parish and we are trying hard to address it.
We are looking to assemble a dedicated team of 4-6
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist to distribute
communion on a regular basis to parishioners who are
hospitalized, homebound, or reside in assisted living or
skilled nursing facilities. Just a few hours each month can
make such a big difference in a sick or elderly
person's life. Please prayerfully consider this ministry. If
you are interested please see Father Gildardo or call Paul
Tognetti at 461-7718.

EDUCACION RELIGIOSA:
Hoy está con nosotros la hermana Ana María Corona
quien será la nueva directora del programa de la
Educación Religiosa. Al terminar la celebración pueden
acercársele para hablar con ella. Las registraciones darán
inicio el sábado 2 de agosto de las 10:00 am hasta las
3:00pm en la rectoría. Ella estará registrándolos durante
todo el mes, la fecha limita es el 2 de Septiembre. Para
más información llamar o hablar a la hermana al 9413768.
EDUCACION RELIGIOSA PARA ADULTOS:
Ya se están llenando las aplicaciones para la catequesis de
adultos, clases que iniciaran el próximo Septiembre.

ORIDINARIO JULIO 20, 2008
Hermanos les damos nuestra más cordial bienvenida a
la Eucaristía en este Domingo 16 del Tiempo
Ordinario. Hoy el Señor Jesús nos va a explicar la
Parábola de la cizaña (hierba mala) que crece junto al
trigo y parece que va a perjudicar la maduración de
los granos buenos. Pero ahí se demuestra la paciencia
de Dios no hay que cortar la cizaña. Ni esperar al final
de los tiempos o al momento de la muerte de cada uno
Dios nos da todo el tiempo posible para que cambiemos
y nos convirtamos. Hemos de meditar sobre esto que
Jesús nos cuenta hoy, al mismo tiempo debemos tomar
decisiones. Salgamos de esta Celebración
a no
condenar a los que todavía se están tomando tiempo
para seguir a Cristo y pidiéndole a Dios la paciencia
para verlos un día convertidos.

FESTIVAL DE LA ASUNCION:
Una vez más nuestra parroquia celebrará el Festival de la
Asunción de dos modos. Habrá un Novena que comienza
el viernes, 8 de agosto y tendremos nuestro Festival anual
de la Parroquia que será en el estacionamiento de la
parroquia el domingo, 17 de agosto.
CAMPAÑA PARA EL FONDO DE CARIDAD
CATOLICA:
A pesar de las dificultades económicas por las que todos
estamos atravesando nuestra campaña anual para las
caridades Católica estuvo muy bien. Hemos colectado un
total de $ 12,532.50. Sólo nos faltaron $2,247.50.para
llegar a la meta. Gracias a todos por su generosidad.

ORACION POR LA CAMPAÑA CAPITAL:
Dios compasivo y misericordioso Te damos gracias por
todas las bendiciones innumerables que has concedido a
esta parroquia durante los últimos 135 anos. Sabemos que
continuaras compartiendo tus regalos con nosotros.
Ayúdanos ahora a reparar el futuro de esta parroquia. Se
nuestro guía durante este tiempo de sacrificio para que
seamos generosos, inspíranos para que podamos tomar
decisiones que beneficien a la comunidad parroquial de la
Asunción y para que honrando nuestro pasado seamos
