Course Description and Objectives:
Designed as an overview of Project Management Body of Knowledge and
Project Proposal Writing for graduate students, this course covers fundamental
elements of the project management concepts and processes. The objective of this
course is to introduce and reinforce the principles, tools and techniques of project
management. Emphasis will be placed on the nine knowledge areas and the five
process groups of project management. Students will gain basic overview of
project management on theoretical as well as application level, develop required
competencies to apply project management as user, team member and/or project
manager. To create corporate value under a highly competitive environment,
today’s managers should define a strategy for the project implementation that is
capable of achieving both operational and business results. This course satisfies the
education requirement for project management professional certification. It will
provide students necessary concepts, skills and tools for planning and leading
projects for success and thus increase students’ competitive ability in the
employment market.
