The legacy of Steve Jobs 賈伯斯不滅的傳奇 Throughout his amazing career, Steve Jobs was viewed in many different ways. Some felt he was an artist who took the design of Apple’s products very seriously. Others saw him as a genius who created evangelists rather than customers. Those who worked for him and had to put up with his long tirades of verbal abuse sometimes considered him a tyrant. One thing all of these people could agree on, though, was this: Steve Jobs had a true passion for the work he did. The enfant terrible of Silicon Valley’s rise to fame and fortune is now almost a storybook legend. Jobs and his friend Steve Wozniak formed their company in a small garage in Palo Alto, California, in the 1970s. Their tiny company grew into one of the most profitable companies ever, although Jobs to deal with many bumps in the road along the way. At one point in his career, Jobs was actually kicked out of Apple by the people he had hired. When it looked like Apple was going to fail in the 1990s, Jobs made a comeback. He turned the company around, redefining Apple’s spirit with the saying, “Think different.” This led to the creation of the iPod, iPhone, and iPad, and these revolutionary products brought new technology which has changed society. It has now been more than one and a half years since Steve Job’s death, and the fascination with Steve Jobs continues. His biography became an instant best seller when it hit shelves shortly after his death. Now a film about Jobs is being released, with Ashton Kutcher seems to be the perfect actor to play Jobs. Kutucher is a lifelong fan and decadelong stockholder in Apple, and he also bears an uncanny resemblance to the younger Jobs. The film was not an easy task, however. As the director, Koshua Michael Stern, explained, “I think the challenge when dealing with such a well-known and public figure is trying to get it right and to introduce a character who, by nature, was enigmatic-meaning that very few people really knew who this man really was”. Audiences will have to judge if Stern and Kutcher succeeded in portraying this complex man, nevertheless, Steve Jobs will be remembered as someone who made a serious impact on society through the products his company produces. He was a true wunderkind and arguably one of the greatest geniuses of the twentieth century. To so many people, Steve Jobs did more than just create Apple; Steve Jobs was Apple.
