Street Pastors Kingston St Peter’s Hall London Road Kingston Surrey KT2 6QL Reg Charity No: 108 6608 Tel. 020 8547 0566 kingston@streetpastors.org.uk www.kingston.streetpastors.org.uk Text SPKN to 70070 followed by the amount to donate, £10, £20, £50 Prayer Letter 465 Friday 14th August 2015 Friday Team: Street Pastors: Mark Curzon; Carole & Chris Bourne; Sue Liptrot; Pete Watson; Jim Strang; Overview: It was generally very quiet which may be due to consistent drizzle for most of the evening but also reflecting that the previous night was a complete opposite with all the clubs being full with A Level results revelry. No major incidents required our assistance. We had nice conversations throughout the three rounds. Thanks for the support and interaction of a great team tonight. 9.55 We are all going to the police station for their 10pm briefing. 10.35 Spoke to door man at the Druid's Head, who was very friendly and said it was quite busy last night. He hopes to come out as an observer and see what we do and would like to get involved. 11.05 By John Lewis building by the riverside and had lovely conversations with numerous people who were out at an impromptu leavers' party. 1.30 Clarence Street - saw regular homeless woman sleeping in the Monsoon shop door way. Chris went to see if she needed anything but was not very politely told to go away. Talked to an older guy in a queue for one of the bars - nice guy - he felt we were part of the police and spying on him so we reassured him that was not the case but he wasn't to be persuaded. Outside Barcadia and talking to security people and apparently Barcadia is owned by the Hippodrome. 12.00 Passing Pryzm and had a chat with one of the door guys who said unlike last night when they were completely rammed with 2000 for A Level night. They only had about 1200 in so quite quiet. 12.50 We had a pleasant conversation with a lady member of staff at the Hippodrome who said it is very quiet tonight as they have 450 in. Met a lady rough sleeper who said she had lost all her money and had no means of going back to see her two dogs in Worcester Park. She had had an awful lot to drink. We have just had a brief conversation with Z and M. We gave Z flip flops. She had had quite a lot to drink and someone has spiked her drink so was very tottery and was being taken home by M who was walking her back. She said the person who had spiked her drink had hurt her and hurt her soul. 2.10 Just going back into the URC having had a brief discussion with a young lady who needed a pair of flip flops. She told us she had been working for 104 hours with virtually no time off. 3.05 Have spent the last 10 minutes having a rather bizarre and rambling conversation with a young lad who was obviously inebriated but wanted to have a philosophical debate about our religious beliefs. He asked each of us how we came to be Christians and involved in SPs. He then moved on to biblical teachings and did we follow them strictly. Half way through our answers he decided we were not really worth talking to further and wished us good night and walked off. 3.40 For the last 30 minutes we have been doing a trawl of all the remaining clubs to check that everything is OK. Bacchus was shut - no issues. Same thing for Barcadia. Pryzm was just turning people out and all under control with security staff and a couple of policemen. Hippodrome was all fine with everyone cleared away.
