3. The written examination
 Part A contains exercises based on the units indicated above from both the textbook and the dispensa.
 Part B consists of a 40-item cloze test based on the set readings, plus 15 items based on the grammar, morphology,
syntax and lexis of the same passages. Candidates are expected to have a working knowledge of reading strategies,
together with a familiarity with the key lexical items and themes explored in the texts.
4. The oral examination
 Candidates must have passed the written examination in the same exam session.
 The oral exam requires that the candidates are able to talk on any one of the articles outlined in the programme
above. Partial programmes cannot be accepted.
 Candidates are expected to be able to summarise the contents of the articles and answer questions posed by the
interviewer. The first text is chosen by the candidate.
