The written examination
PART A contains grammatical and lexical exercises of the type contained in the prescribed text-book. Candidates are
expected to be familiar with the key lexical items, structures and functions contained in the textbook. This grammar part
consists of 40 sentences to be completed with verbs, modal verbs, specialised vocabulary and function words.
PART B contains a reading passage similar to those analysed during lessons. Candidates are expected to show a
working knowledge of reading strategies, together with a familiarity with the key lexical items and themes explored
during the lessons.



