师资力量介绍 貌似这所学校 ee 的排名还是不错的
Ranked both nationally and internationally as one of the best departments of
electrical and computer engineering, the department has 33 full-time faculty
members, 17 adjunct members and 8 associate members. Eleven of the
full-time professors and professor emeriti are IEEE fellows, five are Canada
Research Chair (CRC) holders, three occupy funded chairs and six are fellows
of the Royal Society of Canada. One of the faculty members of the
department has been named University Professor (the highest honor
conferred by the University). Presently, the department also has seven
visiting scientists, nine postdoctoral fellows, and eight researchers.

Master's Degree
A candidate for the Master's degree may proceed by one of three routes: the
Research Program (M.A.Sc.), the course and project program (M.Eng.), or the
M.Eng. in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering.
M.A.Sc. Degree
A candidate is required to complete successfully at least four
graduate half courses (or equivalent), of which at least two must be from among the
700-level graduate course, and to prepare a thesis embodying the results of the
research taken on by the candidate.
M. Eng. Degree
A candidate is required to complete successfully a program of
seven graduate half courses (or equivalent), of which at least five must be 700-level
and up to two 600-level courses approved by the department;
M. Eng. Degree in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering
This program is open to
graduates who have maintained a minimum average of B in each year of the B.Eng.
program in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering at McMaster University. 貌似只对
他们学校的学生开设。
这个学校在研究社院有专门的 School of Biomedical Engineering ,算是新开设的 school,
但是感觉算他们重点之一,不过师资力量后来发现还是很差的,
他们有专门的 MICROELECTRONICS 课程,但是相对其他方向的课程还是比较薄弱,主要开
在设计上,没有很多器件和材料的课程。感觉如果我申太阳能方向的话就不太合适。

接近的。还没有发现生物方面的教授,他们上课的老师都是副教授什么的。Dr. I. Bruce 所以
总结一下发现他们在这些方面并不是很强。
关于他们学校学生未来的就业问题没有查到,准备明天打电话问问看。学校有 career 咨询,不

Well equipped laboratories are available for work in all of these areas. Special
laboratory facilities are available to graduate students in telecommunications,
solid-state electronics, integrated circuit design, electromagnetics, microwave
microelectronics, electrotropics, computer vision and electric power systems. The
department has many workstations and high end PCs in general access laboratories
and excellent computing facilities available in the individual research
laboratories. The workstations are supported by a large Sun fileservers and two
computational servers, and the PCs are supported by a Novell network.

Course & Programme:
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers programs for graduate
study leading to the research-oriented Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy
degrees and to the professional Master of Engineering degree in Electrical and
Computer Engineering. Courses in the department may also be applied to the
interdisciplinary Doctor of Engineering degree. The MS and PhD programs provide
specialization in-depth and include a research (thesis or dissertation) requirement.
The MEng and DEng programs are designed to provide the depth and breadth necessary
for the practice of engineering at advanced levels.:

Microelectronics 等,但是在电子以及材料方面感觉课程与 Program 不是很多。

Microelectronic systems and fabrication technologies; methods of engineering
analysis and device characterization. Junction diodes, Schottky diodes, bipolar
transistors, junction and MOS field-effect devices, solar cells, light emitting
diodes, charge coupled devices, magnetic bubbles, liquid crystal displays and other
newly developed devices and circuits. Prerequisite: Graduate classification or
approval of instructor.
664. Nanotechnology Fabrication. (3-0). Credit 3.
Cutting edge nanostructure fabrication techniques for both top-down and bottom up
approaches. Prerequisite: Instructor approval.
就业前景:
TAMU 的 Analog IC Design 实力强大,在 TI 等大公司中有众多 TAMU 毕业生,就业前景
不错。但是和自身专业研究方向不是很契合。
二. 香港科技大学
科大的专业比较全
Biomedical Electronics、 Computer Engineering、IC Design、Microelectronics 、Photonics、Signal & Information、
System & Automation、Wireless Communications & Networking
其中 Biomedical Electronics 涵盖的内容也比较多,成像,dna 检测,疾病预防,传感器
等等的还是很多的。有三个 lab,7 个 faculty,
Microelectronics 据说是 increasingly important research area for Hong Kong,不
过研究实力还要在考证一下。这个分支的重点和我们学校非常相似,其中有 Thin film and
display devices 和我目前的太阳能电池是一个方向的,他们也比较重材料和器件方面。有四
个 lab,两个中心,12 个 faculty。
总观发现 Microelectronics 应该是和其他的分支重要地位差不多的,算重点之一。
MSc in Electronic Engineering
这个项目的灵活性比较大的 This program is deliberately broad based to provide a
balanced view of the state of the art for maximum flexibility. Students may tailor
their program to their unique interests。重要还是真对要工作的人提升自己能力的。
MPhil in Electronic and Computer Engineering
The MPhil program is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a career
in research and development in industry or academia.还行,只是不是非常的学术 It is
also an excellent preparation for those interested in pursuing a PhD degree.

三. 香港大学
Department has a wide range of research activities, grouped under six areas, namely (i) computer
systems and networking, (ii) telecommunications, (iii) microelectronics, optoelectronics and VLSI, (iv)
energy systems and electric vehicles, (v) biomedical engineering, (vi) information systems, and (vii)
Electromagnetics and Optics.
这所学校也是在 microelectronics 上不是重点,而且偏设计的,没有我的器材的东东。9 个 faculty
但是在 biomedical engineering,上还是开了比较多的课程
