Brain Injury Matters (NI) Job Description & Person Specification Job Title Physiotherapist Based at Belfast, with travel across NI Contract 25 hours Salary £22,000-24,000 pro rata and 5% pension contribution Responsible to Clinical Lead Main Purpose To provide physiotherapy assessment and programmes of exercise for individuals with Acquired brain injury to promote their physical wellbeing. To provide up to date problem lists, treatment plans and goals for each service user. 3. Maintain regular communication with the team and, alongside them, work towards achievable goals for each member. 4. Liaise with external leisure centres and sports bodies using community resources to add value to the programme. 5. Manage use of the fitness suite and liaise with suppliers. Maintain a safe environment when working with members in the gym. Ensure equipment is properly maintained. 6. Provide training for staff members and volunteers, for example, in manual handling. 7. Assist the Clinical lead in evaluating the impact of physiotherapy intervention and exercise for service users and reporting on progress to funders. 8. Deliver Health and Wellbeing education relevant to the specific needs of the groups. 9. Deliver group based activities and interventions to promote health and wellbeing, 10. Co-ordinate the Wellbeing Programme and support external providers and volunteers. 11. Assist in the development of Rebound Physio and treatment of private patients in the charity’s social business. Other Duties 1. Attend team meetings and training as required. 2. Participate in member Goal Setting Reviews (GSRs). 3. Key working responsibilities. 4. Any other duties that may reasonably be required. Essential Qualifications 1. Degree in Physiotherapy 2. State Registration Desirable 1.Evidence of relevant courses undertaken e.g. Bobath/MSK/Pilates/Yoga 2. First Aid qualified Experience 2.Experience of working in a 1. At least 1year’s post graduate experience of working neurological setting with a range of conditions, corresponding to minimum NHS Band 5 level. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities 1. To be able to demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning and problem solving skills 2. To have knowledge and experience of audit and clinical governance issues and their application to the voluntary sector 3. Demonstrate the ability to work within evidence based practice guideli 4. Excellent organizational skills 5. Ability to self motivate 6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 7. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills 8. Ability to work under pressure and to stay calm in stressful situations 9. Good listening skills 10.
