JANUARY 2015 NEWSLETTER
I hope you all had an amazing Christmas holiday. Is it
me or did it all happen very quickly?
We went to the Tower of
London for our January
session. It was a lot of fun, lots
to explore, lots of
stairs to climb and
lots of interaction with
the wardens and
Beefeaters. This was
our largest group trip so far with 27 of us in
total, although we broke off into smaller groups
and bumped into each other. It was such a
good day!
On Saturday 14th February we are planning to go to
Brooklands Museum. We are taking the minibus and will
be meeting here at the Guardian Centre at 10am to
leave straight away. If you want to make your own way
there the address is Brooklands Museum Trust
Limited Brooklands Road, Weybridge, Surrey KT13
0QN and we will meet you there at 10.45am.
We have reserved a room to have our lunch in so we
can bring packed lunches and have somewhere to eat,
there is also a café there too so the choice is yours!
MertonVision will fund each visually impaired child and
an accompanying adult for this trip, other adults will need
to pay £10 a ticket and £4 for children. There is also a
Concorde Experience at the museum at a cost of £5 per
adult and £3 per child, so please come armed with cash
if you would like to do that.
Please note: Brooklands Museum is a large open air
museum with many period buildings and exhibits, some
with stepped access. All exhibits are wheelchair
accessible. However there is no wheelchair access on
board the aeroplanes, which all have steps (including
Concorde). The Concorde Simulator is fully accessible
with ramped access. This trip is suitable for all ages.

our newsletters? If we are a large group and we split into
smaller groups it would be nice to get other peoples’
memories too!
