Dear
Computer Set Up Wizard
If you have not used Wimba on your computer, please make sure to run the Live Classroom
Setup Wizard at least 12 hours before the session.
http://67.202.210.80/wizard/launcher.cgi?wc=wms
Running the setup wizard in advance ensures that all the necessary software is installed on your
computer and will allow you to identify potential problems and fix them well in advance of the
event. Pop-up blockers, multiple firewalls, or multiple installations of java are generally the most
common problems that prevent Wimba from launching properly. If you have any issues, you can
call Wimba Technical Support at 1-866-350-4978.
Day of Session Instructions
1. Please login at XXXXXX. Please DO NOT use a wireless connection.

Blackboard course site.
Tips

Do not use a wireless connection when accessing Wimba.

Use Safari if you have an Intel-based Mac.

Use Firefox if you are using Windows Vista. There are issues that have been reported
with IE7.

Close all other applications before starting your browser.

Use a headset. Wimba recommends against using desktop speakers with a stand-alone
mike because of feedback and echos. If you are in a bind, you can use a stand-alone
microphone and a phone for the first session. Headsets under $20 like this
http://tinyurl.com/23twv4 are available at Best Buy, Radio Shack, Target, etc.

Pop-up blockers prevent Wimba from launching properly. You may have pop-up blockers
in multiple places on your computer. Please visit this site to learn how to disable all your
blockers: https://host.softworks.ca/Agate3/blocker/disable-blockers.htm
