Students may earn credit for English 101 through earning a grade of 4 or 5 on the AP English Exam. In this case, the
student may take ENG 102 in the fall semester of freshman year.

DSS 100 MS Excel competency is to be demonstrated in the fall semester of freshman year. Competency to the
satisfaction of the DSS Chair is required of all HSB majors.

DSS 111 is an optional online elective course available to help prepare business students to solve quantitative problems
in an undergraduate business curriculum. [1 credit, grade received]

SOC 101 Intro to Sociology also fulfills the Diversity Overlay requirement.
Additional notes:
 In selecting courses, students will be required to identify courses that meet the overlay requirements in the areas of
1. Diversity, Globalization or Non-Western Area Studies; 2. Ethics Intensive; and 3. Writing Intensive. Many of the
courses already in your schedule may cover these areas.
