develop new marketing concepts and strategies in view of promoting company business.

products ensuring customer satisfaction.

Kalutara District Chamber of Commerce & Industry S/L – Being a Chief Operating Officer,
promoted Chamber services especially among the Entrepreneurs of the district, Improved
Membership Base, organized district Enterprise Forums with District Secretary and seminars with
government officials (BOI, Inland Revenue, Labor dept., Fire Services Waste Management
Authority, Police, Urban councils and Banks etc), organized SME meetings with the Divisional
Secretaries and represented the team which developed 3 year Business Plan for the Chamber.

Asia Tex (Pvt) Ltd. S/L- As a General Manager (Marketing & Merchandising) handled the
functions of Marketing, Merchandising as well as Production and Administration. I was
responsible for the sourcing and price negotiations of Garment orders & raw materials while
follow up day to day activities of Merchandising, Purchasing divisions.

Asia Resources (Pvt) Ltd. Kenya – had the opportunity to set up a Garment Factory in Kenya and
manage its total operational activities as the General Manager. I was responsible for the overall
management of the company starting from sourcing & negotiating garment orders, production
process, Administrative and Banking functions, Coordinating with EPZ officers, Customs etc. and
reporting performances and financial reports to the top management.

Tri-Star Apparel Exports (Pvt) Ltd S/L- Being the General Manager (Head of International Sales,
& Marketing) managed its operations with a staff of 30 merchandisers and 3 Marketing
managers. My primary responsibility was to offer company products and strengths to customers
(overseas & local) and seal monthly production capacity of 900,000 garments to meet the target
labor cost of Rs. 150mn. I have taken steps to introduced new Marketing & Purchasing concepts
to achieve company aspirations while ensuring complete customer satisfaction to the highest
level. Lead and trained marketing and merchandising staff to achieve highest level of
performances. Represented the company for both National Apparel Export Association and
Srilanka Apparel Export Association.
Significant Achievements:
1.
Managed the International Marketing division to meet the planned company budgets and
its performances were appreciated by the Chairman vide letters on 08th & 15th Dec. 2000
2. Negotiated with Mast Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. to recover old outstanding of USD 19000.00
3. Negotiated with New Times (Pvt) Ltd. and claim USD 30,000.00 for loss of production.
4. Coordinated with Air force hierarchy to receive old outstanding of USD 32,000.00

Asia Tex (Pvt) Ltd. S/L – Being a Manager of Marketing & Merchandising, my responsibilities
were to Negotiate and secure Garment orders to feed factory production capacity, sign
contracts with clients, develop critical path, organize to purchase raw materials and receipts,
monitor production process and deliveries. Delegate & follow up duties of Merchandisers, look
after sample developments and day to day operations of the Marketing & Merchandising dept.

State Timber Corporation, S/L – worked at the Purchasing & Shipping division and administer
contracts for major purchases whilst draft bid specifications and requests bid proposals from
vendors, Supervise and direct purchasing functions such as product / service research, vendor
selection, price and contract terms negotiation and purchase order completion. Prepare budget
estimates and monitor departmental expenditures. Identify high-margin opportunities for
additional product offerings through market research and networking with customers, vendors,
and the academic community. Source products and raw materials at quality and cost standards
consistent with company business objectives.

Management – Being a senior Manager since 1996 had the opportunity to setup an overseas project in Kenya and
manage its total operational activities as company General Manager. Also, managed local entities and have good
