Programs and services include: Home & Vehicle Modification Program, Assistive Devices Program, and Recycled Rental Equipment Program. www.dimes.on.ca Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada - provides basic medical equipment, on loan, from a stock of recycled devices such as scooters, manual and electric wheelchairs, and hospital beds. Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program (RRAP) – offered through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). This includes funding programs and services for Children with Special Needs. • Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities (ACSD) – This organization provides funding that is paid monthy to eligible families with a child under 18 years of age, who has disability, and has extraordinary costs, such as respite/relief care; transportation; special clothing, diet and medical expenses; and educational and social fees. The size of the family and total family income (gross) determine the amount granted. The family should contact this organization directly for an application, at 905-665-1030. • Special Services At Home Program (SSAH) – Assists children with developmental disabilities (ages 0-99) and physical disabilities (ages 0-18) who are living at home with their families. The disability must be documented by a professional such as a physician, audiologist, or psychologist. The program provides funding that can be used toward individual development acitivities and respite/relief care.
