Toronto, Ontario (October 1, 2010) — Chevrolet is proud to support this weekend’s Scotiabank Nuit
Blanche and Toronto's contemporary art audience with the first-ever video and music test drive mash up: the Cruze ReMix. Offering Scotiabank Nuit Blanche patrons the first Canadian test drives of the much-anticipated Chevrolet Cruze, participants will create their own unique video art by driving the
Cruze through a 15,000 square foot closed course.
“Scotiabank Nuit Blanche has become one of Toronto’s premier annual events, and Chevrolet is excited to offer a unique experience that allows participants to express their creativity through an innovative driving experience,” said Kevin Williams, president and managing director of GM Canada.
“We hope as many people as possible take the opportunity to create their own unique video art by test driving the allnew Chevrolet Cruze on this very special night.”
Test drive participants will choose a Chevrolet Cruze that suits their personality, then drive and inspire a team of artists and musicians who will combine their talents to create a personalized music video.
The team will capture, manipulate and edit live video components of the test drive for the viewing audience, who will experience the full range of audio and visual effects including light, sound, and images.
Further personalizing the unique experience, participants will be asked to provide a voice sample that will become part of the video mash-up, and the actual drive will be captured by overhead and groundlevel cameras. All Cruze ReMix mash-ups will be available for download and sharing by participants shortly following the event, which starts at 6:57 PM on October 2 nd , and ends at 6:57 AM on October
3 rd . The Cruze ReMix can be found at the corner of Armoury and Chestnut Streets in the heart of this year’s festivities.
Even as Canadians test drive the Chevrolet Cruze for the first time, it is already an international success in over 70 countries. With its segment-leading attributes and impressive content, Cruze rethinks what Canadians have come to expect in compact cars, including expected segment-leading fuel economy, interior space, and standard safety features.
Cruze also connects with to day’s tech-savvy buyer and will offer the industry’s first-ever mobile applications through OnStar, enabling owners with select smartphones to remotely and securely activate all functions available on a traditional key fob including remote start, horn and lights, and door lock and unlock.
The Chevrolet Cruze will arrive at Canadian dealerships later this month.
