ABOUT THE CONVENTION: Technical Education in India has come to the crossroad. On one hand, the gross enrollment ratio is emphasized to increase by making technical education accessible and affordable for youths of the country while on other hand the cyclic trends in vacant seats in the institutions for courses, low employability of graduates, cost of education, and quality of education are forcing for closures/disapprovals. The sustainability of technical education has become vulnerable simultaneously the global climate change and strategic decisions of International community and policy makers expect sustainable industrial & economical development. The major responsibility is expected tobe shouldered by higher technical education. It demands drasting changes in curriculum and syllabi. The challenges of sustainable industrial & technological development along with sustainable development of engineering education itself can only be encountered by rightly trained mindsets of fraternity of Technical Education.
