MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)
We started off our MOPS 2013-2014 year with Pastor Mark speaking to us about praying with our kiddos and the
importance of prayer. It was a great meeting with some new faces. We have more speakers and crafts lined up for the
rest of the year, too! Come join us anytime and see if you would be interested in joining.
Right now we are looking for volunteers to help with the Moppets (the kiddos of the MOPS moms) during our meetings
since we provide childcare. If you are interested please let us know. (See email at the end) Times would be first Monday
of the month 6-8 pm and the third Monday of the month 9:30-11:30 am.
Our next meeting is a night meeting, October 7th, 6-8 pm. We have our first Moms' Night Out on September 24 @ 8pm.
If you have any questions, would like to volunteer to help with childcare or need more information, please email, call or
Facebook Amy Baserman @ 865 376-2552, abaserman@yahoo.com and MOPS of Grace Lutheran on Facebook.
SINGERS NEEDED!!
New singers are needed in our choir ministry, in the 8:00 am Heritage Choir and in the 9:30 am Worship Choir. Life
changes have reduced our core group of singers in each choir and we need new persons who like to sing to step forward
to assist the music ministry in our worship services. Choir experience and music reading skills are not required, just a
willingness to practice, learn as you go and sing together with others in service to our Lord. The choirs rehearse
separately on Tuesday nights in the choir room (behind the back balcony in the sanctuary. Heritage Choir practices 6:307:30 pm while the Worship Choir meets 7:35-8:35 pm. (Note: For the present the Worship Choir is coming at 7:00 pm
to practice with the Heritage Choir for 30 minutes.) To learn more see any choir member or contact the director,
Brian Patton, cell phone 437-7360, or email bpatton10@comcast.net. Better yet, just come visit a choir any Tuesday.

Sanctuary Fundraising Update
Funds raised to date: $98,348.55
Still needed: $31,651.45
Save the Date…Parade of Tables 2014 will be Saturday, March 1
Please consider being a hostess. The theme this year is “Movies” and the charity to benefit will be the Smoky Mountain
Service Dogs. Please contact Nancy Duthey at 680-0998 or email her at duthey@live.com if you are interested in being
a hostess or if you need more information.
What is Parade of Tables? This is a luncheon for women. Tables are sponsored by a “hostess” and decorated to the
theme. You as a hostess, pick your own theme and decorate your table to that theme. Or you can buy a ticket and be
a guest at the table. Each year we pick a different charity to benefit from the proceeds. This is a fun event and the
Family Life Center is full of decorated tables. Please join us!
A Story of Struggle, Perseverance and Faith
On Thursday, October 3, Toronto Blue Jays Pitcher RA Dickey will share his story with the city of Knoxville.
