FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 9, 2011 Contact: Linda Warden LCWarden@Yahoo.com 910-681-0835 www.LCWProductions.com A NEW MOVIE HOPES TO CHANGE LIVES When we think of childhood, alcoholism and substance use disorder rarely come to mind. Unfortunately, studies have shown that this is the time when most adult alcoholics and addicts began using these substances. The Decision, a short movie currently in production in Wilmington, shows an underage teen considering use of alcohol and drugs and the possible outcomes of that decision. The movie is produced and directed by filmmaker, Linda Warden, of LCW Productions, LLC, whose educational video for parents of youths with substance abuse, Where Do I Turn? has just received worldwide distribution through Films for the Humanities and Sciences in New York (http://ffh.films.com/id/19710/Where_Do_I_Turn_Answers_for_Parents_of_Adolescent _Drug_Users.htm). Ms. Warden is producing The Decision in association with the Cape Fear Coalition (www.CapeFearCoalition.com), a local community organization that works to change attitudes, encourage action, and mobilize stakeholders around the issues of underage drinking, impaired driving, and substance abuse. The youth group of the Coalition wrote the script. Warden said, “The script was written from a youth perspective and writing it encouraged these young people to think about what might happen when underage drinking or drug use takes place.” The Decision stars Kameron King, Brandi Young, Martin Bolon, and other talented local actors. “We have young people both as cast and as crew members in The Decision”, said Warden, “and it’s a pleasure to work with them.” The movie was made for an audience of middle and high school students and their families. “I hope this movie is seen and discussed by many youths and that they, and their families, consider what can happen when they make this decision.”
