Mathematics Lab SAT Prep

Duration: 1 credit course / 1 trimester

This lab will use a series of assessment tests to identify learning gaps of individual students that need to be addresses prior to
taking the SAT. Students will be able to work on specific needs and test taking strategies. This class will be Pass/Fail grading and
considered as an elective course for the SHS requirements. It does not meet the math credit requirements for graduation.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
To assess students reasoning based on knowledge and skills developed
through their course work. It
measures their ability to analyze and
solve problems by applying what they have learned and will reinforce the
importance of writing.

Go over practice test 1, Start diagnostic Math tests, section 3,5,7 and go over them.
Read sections 9, 10, and 12. Practice tests 1,3,6 and go over them.
Practice tests over English, sections 1,3,5 and go over them. Read sections 6,7,8, and 9.
Diagnostic test 2, sections1,2,3,4,5,6 and go over them.
Read sections 13,14 plus worksheet
Test sections 2,4,5 plus worksheet 3.2
Work together on practice tests 1,3,6 and worksheet 3.3
Week 9: Work on practice tests, 3.4 worksheet
Week 10: Practice test 2,4,7 and go over them
Week 11: Work together on practice tests, 5.1 worksheet
Week 12: Final test for a grade, includes Math and English both.

* Parents should contact the teacher or department chair to discuss concerns with texts. If required, the teacher will
provide a substitute text of comparable length that approximates the stated academic purpose. Selected essays, short
stories, poems and articles will be used to teachers to augment major units.
