Each man's life is but a breath.” Psalms 39:5 (NIV) “We remember.” SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY Archon Charles Norris earned a MBA from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business. Additional training includes a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management, a Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University, Global Leadership Certificate from American International School of Management at Thunderbird, Distributed Technologies Certificate from Technical Resources Center, and a Competent Toastmasters Certificate from Toastmasters International. Also, he has been theologically trained at Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, Chicago Baptist Institute, Fuller Theological Seminary, and has been ordained an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Professionally, Archon Norris has been employed in various technical and management roles for over 30 years. His roles have included, System’s Programmer, Account Manager, Quality Manager, and Program Manager. Motorola relocated him to Arizona in July of 1994. In an effort to improve the quality of life for his family and spend more time with them, Archon Norris left the corporate ranks to pursue a career with non profit organizations in 2004. Archon Norris was the owner of Chuck Norris and Associates, LLC. His company focused on helping small and medium sized non-profits to build their fundraising infrastructure. Prior to becoming a small business owner, he was the Director of Development and External Affairs at All Saints’ Episcopal Day School. Additionally, he has served as the President of the Arizona Episcopal Schools Foundation. An accomplished fundraiser, Rev. Norris now strives to make his ministry his business. Always active in community affairs, his work has earned him many awards. He was awarded Motorola’s CEO Award for Volunteerism. He was Black Data Processing Associates’ Member of the Year. In addition to his many roles, Archon Norris served as Public Policy Director for the Phoenix Black Chamber of Commerce, and member of the Governor’s Advisory Council under Arizona Governor’s Janet Napolitano and Jan Brewer. As a member and Associate Pastor of Tanner Chapel AME Church, he served in the Male Chorus, Church School Teacher, Sons of Allen, Member of the Lay Organization, Men of Tanner Ministry, supply Minister to Harbert Chapel AME in Flagstaff, Arizona, and South Minster Presbyterian Church in Phoenix, Arizona. Also, Archon Norris was instrumental in leading Tanner Community Development Corporation in its creation of an Early Childhood Development(ECD) program. The emphasis of Tanner’s ECD program is to train parents how to be the first teachers of their children. In doing so, children will be better prepared to start Kindergarten programs. In December 2010, Archon Norris was appointed Pastor of Prince Chapel by the Sea AME church in La Jolla, California. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the church is continuing to grow spiritually, numerically, and financially. Archon Norris and his wife Tracy are the proud parents of four children. They are active members in Jack and Jill of America. His wife, Tracy, is a retired Physician Assistant and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. A willing servant and devoted family man, his favorite scripture is Isaiah 61:1-3. His constant prayer is for God to set free those who are bound and held captive to things that hinder the realization of their God given talents. Archon James K. McKnight is a Spirit filled, faith filled, loving and caring shepherd. He is both “called and focused." He is called to preach and teach the Word of God and he is focused upon saving souls and developing men and women to become fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. During the time that he has served as pastor of Congregational Church of Christian Fellowship in Los Angeles he continues to grow the church. Under Archon McKnight’s leadership, several ministries are making an impact. As a church they are tackling tough issues including homelessness, poverty and hunger. Children have received backpacks and school supplies. Families in need have received food baskets and grocery store vouchers and worthy students each year receive generous scholarships. The church is home to a successful Head Start program where a diverse group of children are taught, nurtured and given nutritious meals. The church is also home to 2 nd Call, a wonderful community outreach that teaches job readiness skills to those who are interested in positively transitioning their lives. Archon McKnight loves preaching and teaching the rich truths of God’s Word. His sermons, teachings and workshops have been labeled "creative, energetic, inspiring, relevant and thought-provoking." They ignite enthusiasm, hope and change. He is a Los Angeles native, the son of Helen Saunders McKnight and the late James W. McKnight. Archon McKnight earned a B.A. in Economics from Pitzer College. After graduation, he worked as a financial analyst and a sales and training professional. After receiving the call to the Gospel ministry, he received invaluable training from his former pastors: Bishop T. Larry Kirkland, Rev. Madison T. Shockley, Dr. William Thurmond and Pastor Toure’ Roberts. He is currently completing the requirements for the Master of Theology degree at Fuller Theological Seminary. Archon McKnight is balancing his roles as husband, father, pastor, teacher, student, consultant and friend and is married to the former Denise Mozee.
