Course Description:
This course involves the study of the human body structures and functions. You will be
exposed to a wide range of vocabulary, concepts, research areas, and laboratory activities,
which will all supplement the concepts introduced through the standard lessons. It is
expected that students will supplement what is shared in class by completing course-related
work and studying their notes outside of the class.
Course Evaluation Breakdown:
1. Final Exam………………………… 30%

1. The Final Exam
The final exam will take place at the end of the semester. It will be a cumulative
exam, meaning that everything is examinable from day 1 to the last day. Exam schedules
will be posted as soon as possible.
2. Course Work
a. Tests & Quizzes
Tests and quizzes will be announced ahead of time. Students are expected to study on
their own time everyday and are invited to ask any questions regarding the material
before the test/quiz date. Students will write the assessment piece on the day
scheduled, unless they have called in to the office ahead of time, or have made
arrangements with the teacher. Any student that has an unsanctioned absence must
come speak to me immediately upon return.

b. Assignments, laboratories, and homework checks
Assignments and laboratories are due at the beginning of the class on the announced
due date. Hand in everything to the hand in bin.
***Term 1 mark is a summary to that point. Term 1 and term 2 marks will not be averaged
together. Your final mark will consist of 70% course work (regardless of which term it was
from) and 30% exam.
