OH, AND BY THE WAY....DID YOU KNOW KIDS HAVE STRESS TOO?.............................. If children are experiencing stress, their bodies, minds, and feelings are affected. HERE ARE A COUPLE TIPS FOR “TAMING YOUR TOT WHILE ON THE PHONE!” If you’re expecting a call, talk to your child before the phone rings about the need for her/him to be busy while you are talking on the phone. Have a game plan ready-like a favourite TV show or activityfor these longer calls. Set up a ticket system where your child is permitted to use a one time “free interruption pass” during a call. This can go a long way in helping a child learn to cope without your attention. Be fair and don’t expect a very young child to be quiet for more than 5-10 minutes. Build and have on hand a “telephone emergency kit”things like a few surprise toys, or maybe some healthy snacks. Thank you to Terry Carson- The Parenting Coach- for sharing this info.
