The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and the University of Texas-Pan American offers
a $2,000.00 stipend for each semester to Texas Department of Family and Protective Services’ employees.
The employee contracts to do their field placements with Child Protective Services and continue to work
full time for the agency after graduation for four (4) calendar months for each academic unit/semester that
the student received a stipend.

Walter Lukaszek will review your statement of commitment, letters of reference, and transcripts that are
submitted with your application to the Social Work Department. The Department of Family and Protective
Services will make a determination if you have worked for two or more years, have a meeting job
requirement or better annual evaluation, are not under corrective action, and verify that your program
director and program administrator approve your participation in the stipend program.

Edinburg, Texas 78539. Interviews will be arranged with the Texas Department of Family and Protective
Services to determine the award of a Title IVE stipend, if applicable.
