Course Description: Macroeconomics is the study of the economy as a whole, and how it differs
from microeconomics. This course will cover the basic principles of economics, an introduction to
macroeconomics, economic growth, aggregate supply and aggregate demand, income and
expenditure, fiscal policy, monetary policy, money and banking, labor markets, unemployment,
inflation, deflation, modern macroeconomics and closed and open economy models. This course is
designed to prepare students for the AP examination in Wednesday, May 11th. It is an afternoon
exam.

Grading Policy:
90% and above = A
80 - 89% = B
70 – 79% = C
60 – 69% = D
0 – 59% = F
IV.
Homework Policy: By the end of the course students should be able to:
a. Course Objectives:
i. Define basic economics terms
ii. Use basic economic concepts and tools to analyze issues
iii. Analyze and apply economics concepts to articles
iv. Synthesize and evaluate current economics events
b. Course Requirements:
i. Read assignments in required text and supplemental material
ii. Complete sq3r’s (outlines) on required chapters
iii. Maintain a notebook on current events & classroom notes
iv. Complete vocabulary quizzes tests, final exam
v. Complete projects, ass assigned.
V.
Make Up Work and Extra Credit:
All work is due on the assigned date
Late work will be accepted but students will lose 10% of the possible points …no matter the
reason. If you are sick, traveling, etc. give your homework to a friend to turn in or submit it
early.
Extra Credit: 4 news reflections may be submitted at one time during a grading period.

Fall 2015-16
We have read and understood the requirements for AP Macroeconomics. The student agrees to meet
the requirements of the class. Students are expected to prepare for the AP Examination in May 15th.
If we have questions or need assistance we will contact the teacher in person, through email or by
phone. Generally, students are expected to spend two hours each evening on an advanced
placement course. Student’s grades can be accessed at your convenience through Parent Internet
Viewer. Grade checks can be obtained through a form available in the main office. Note: All late
work is accept, BUT AT 10% reduction of the total points…excused or unexcused absences do not
make a difference.
