Reported favorably with recommendation of proposal of amendment by Senator Bartlett for the Committee on Appropriations. The Committee recommends that the Senate propose to the House to amend the bill as follows: First: In Sec. 3, by striking out subsections (f) and (g) in their entirety Second: In Sec. 5(a), after management by adding “for transfer to the agency of agriculture, food and markets” Third: By adding a new Sec. 7 to read as follows: Sec. 7. FINAL PAYMENT It is the intent of the general assembly that the payment provided by this act is the final dairy assistance program payment for the 2007-2008 biennium. and by renumbering the remaining section to be Sec. 8 (Committee Vote: 6-0-1) (For House amendments, see House Journal for February 8, 2007, page 157.) AMENDMENT TO S. 13 TO BE OFFERED BY SENATOR SEARS BEFORE THIRD READING Senator Sears moves to amend the bill by striking out all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following: - 84 - Sec. 1. VEHICULAR IDLING ON SCHOOL PROPERTY On or before September 1, 2007, the department of education shall make available to all public school districts and approved independent schools a model policy concerning school busses and commercial vehicles idling on school property. On or before September 1, 2008, each public school district and approved independent school shall adopt a policy concerning school busses and commercial vehicles idling on its property and shall ensure that the policy is widely communicated. Each public school district and approved independent school shall also ensure that the adopted policy is incorporated into any new or renewed contract into which it enters with a school bus company.
