STEVE LYLE Steve Lyle is the director of engineering workforce development and university marketing for Texas Instruments. Steve’s responsibilities include the development and execution of TI’s robotics competition strategy and marketing efforts, the oversight of worldwide university collaboration among recruiting, research and marketing activities, as well as penetrating university curriculum with TI technology around the world. He also serves on the Texas Instruments PAC Board of Directors. He holds double degrees from Western Kentucky University in information technology and office administration and is a graduate of the Human Resource Strategic Leadership course at the University of Michigan and the Strategic Negotiations course at Harvard. Steve serves as a member of the UT Dallas Industry Advisory Council to the School of Engineering and is a former member of the UT Dallas School of Management Industry Advisory Board of which he chaired from 2006-2008. He is a member of the UT Dallas Development Board, a member of the board of directors for the Dallas County Community College District Foundation and a member of the Texas Higher Education Strategic Planning Committee. He is also a former member of the board of directors for the Texas Business and Education Coalition. Steve has had a long history of working with education/academia and universities having served on Texas Tech University’s (TTU) Management Information Science (MIS) Advisory Board, having served as a faculty affiliate in TTU’s College of Business, as a member of the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Career Development Advisory Board, and as the WW Staffing Director for TI working with a host of universities. Steve has been with TI for almost 35 years. Having started out as a software/applications programmer/developer he has served in various leadership capacities across multiple organizations such as IT, Quality, HR and Marketing. He is a US Army veteran and received the Bronze Star during the first Gulf War. He is also the author of “The Power of Being Yourself: Navigating Corporate America when you are a Minority”.
