BRAIN MODEL PROJECT Construct a model of the human brain. You may use clay, foam, or any other appropriate material. Your model must be labeled and must include a key that explains location of each area, and the function of the areas marked with an *. The key may be on note cards or on a sheet of paper accompanying your model. The model must include the following: I. Cerebrum: A. Cerebral Cortex* B. Convolutions C. Longitudinal Fissure* D. Corpus Callosum* E. Frontal Lobe* F. Occipital Lobe* G. Parietal Lobe* H. Temporal Lobe* I. Auditory Area* J. Visual Area* K. Taste Area* L. Motor Area* II. III. Cerebellum*-areas. Diencephalon A. Hypothalamus* & Pituitary Gland* B. Thalamus Brain StemA. Medulla Oblongata* B. Pons* C. Midbrain* On the key, also explain the location and function of the ventricles and the choroid plexus as well as the 3 layers of the meninges. IV. V. Grading Scale- Project counts as 1 Test Grade A. Model includes 4 major parts of the brain with the listed subparts in accurate locations. Model is to scale and labels are neat and easy to read. B. Key explains the location of the gray and white matter in the cerebrum, accurately lists the functions of the * areas and explains & describes the functions of the ventricles, choroids plexus and 3 layers of the meninges.
