2013 CRLA OUTSTANDING TUTOR AWARD NOMINATION PROCEDURES The Outstanding Tutor Award was established in 1995 by the College Reading and Learning Association’s International Tutor Training Program Certification committee (ITTPC). This award is given annually to one peer tutor from any one of our 800+ certified training programs. It honors the work of our undergraduate student tutors who contribute so much to the academic success of their peers and enrich our professional lives through their hard work, dedication and enthusiasm. The nominated tutor must be an undergraduate and certified through a CRLA certified tutor program who has reached the highest level offered by his/her program as documented by copies of CRLA certificates indicating the nominee's level of certification. The nominee must provide a current official transcript (scanned) demonstrating a minimum 3.0 GPA, a letter of recommendation from one of her/his course professors from the institution s/he currently attends, who is not directly affiliated with the tutoring program the nominee is employed by and a letter of recommendation from her/his tutorial program supervisor. Please Note: Institutions can only submit one nomination per tutoring program. The nominee must submit an original essay of at least 500 words and not exceeding 750 words addressing the topic, Unpacking the Tutor’s Toolkit, what it contains and how to use it. This original essay must be submitted electronically, double-spaced and in standard MLA format (to include headers and headings). Essays should show insight into the tutoring process while addressing the specific topic. To apply 1. 2. Applications will be reviewed and the winner chosen by a selected panel made up of members from the College Reading and Learning Association ITTPC committee.
