One Pace Plaza – Suite W 207 E New York, New York 10038 212-346-1697 Description of the Honors Option Procedure Students of the Pforzheimer Honors College are allowed to complete up to two Honors Option Courses throughout their entire tenure as a student in the Honors College. An Honors Option Course is instituted when a student elects to take a non-Honors class and have it applied toward their Honors Course requirement. In order to make it an Honors class, the student must work with the instructor to outline additional work requirements that should be applied to make the course count as an Honors section. The assignment and completion of additional work (i.e: longer paper, extra paper, additional project, etc.) is up to the discretion of the professor. Students must file an Honors Option form to be completed and signed by the student and professor and returned to the Honors office before the semester deadline (watch for an email from Bill or Dr. Malone). Upon completion of the class, the Honors office will send a grade report form to the professor, where the professor will be able to indicate the grade given in the course and whether/not the additional work was completed to the satisfaction of the professor. A grade of B- or higher must be obtained in the class in order for Honors credit to be given. Attention Professors: If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Christopher Malone, Director of the Pforzheimer Honors College, (cmalone@pace.edu) Bill Offutt, Honors College Faculty Advisor, (billoffutt@aol.com) or Aydde Martinez, Honors College Program Coordinator (amartinez3@pace.edu). Attention Students: Please fill out the Honors Option form completely to ensure proper processing of your grades upon completion of the term.
